“The day after.”

9/11

It was around breakfast time.

School cafeteria.

The TVs were on.

Something about planes hitting two buildings.

Sometime later they showed a live-feed of themselves dropping bombs on a place called Baghdad.

I had nothing to say yesterday. In fact I basically avoided the internet knowing full well my feeds would be chock full of 9/11 references. No doubt the topic was trending. It’s expected that our administrators and those personally impacted by the event hold some sort of ceremony in remembrance of the lives lost that day. What disgusted me was what I sensed. That the event that took place on September 11,2001 was only good for a retweet. A like-and by the next day we’d be back to business as usual. Back to ‘normal’.
